Day 1 – Arrive Delhi

 Arrive at Delhi (Indira Ghandi) airport.  One of our local staff will assist you to your car and assist with check-in at your accommodation.

Transfer to Delhi and check into your accommodation

You’ll have the rest of the day free to relax and explore.  Depending on your arrival time, a guided tour is available.

Stay overnight in Delhi at your choice of accommodation.

Day 2 – Delhi

After breakfast, a full day to explore Delhi with your private car and driver (and with a guide, if you wish).  India Gate and the President’s Palace, Hauz Khas and Connaught Place, the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, Old Delhi and the Spice Market… see the most important sights in this fascinating and ancient city.

Day 3 – Agra

 Breakfast and then travel to Agra.  En-route, stop for lunch in one of the small towns along the way – a real experience!  On arrival, head straight for one of the most recognisable buildings in the world -the Taj Mahal.  The ultimate testament to eternal love, nothing can prepare you for the sheer beauty of this stunning mausoleum.  Overnight in Agra.

Day 4 – Jaipur

Depart Agra in the morning and travel to Jaipur.  En-route, spend a few hours at Fatephur Sikri – a deserted fort / village which was to be the ‘capital city’ of the area, but was only used for 10 years or so. A UNESCO world-heritage site.

Arrive Jaipur late afternoon and time at leisure to explore.

Day 5 – Jaipur

A full day exploring the famed ‘Pink City’, the capital of Rajasthan.  From the elegance of the City Palace (including 4 fascinating musuems) to the rugged beauty of the Naharghar Fort, the opulence of the Amber Fort to the solemn beauty of the Jal Mahal, Jaipur is a truly beautiful and striking city.

Day 6 –  Jaipur to Delhi

Breakfast and then travel back to Delhi through the stunning countryside dotted with villages seemingly untouched by ‘progress’.  The rest of your day is at leisure to see more of Delhi.  Choose to visit temples and palaces, do some shopping (Dilli Haat for handicrafts, Palika Bazaar for clothes, Chandni Chowk for almost anything!) or visit simply wander and soak up the unique atmosphere of India’ amazing capital…

Day 7 – Delhi to Shimla

Today, in the morning, drive to the railway station to board the train to Kalka. At Kalka, you get to board the famous Toy Train , which take you through the foothills of the Himalayas. The train, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, takes 5 hours to finally reach Shimla.  On reaching Shimla, check in at the hotel in Shimla. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 8 – Shimla

Day at leisure to explore the town’s colonial heritage and preserved architecture.

Day 9 – Shimla to Delhi

Drive to Chandigarh this morning and connect with the express train to Delhi.

Day 10 – Delhi – departure

Check out of your accommodation and transfer to the airport taking with you rich memories of  this extraordinary country.
